Esther Shea is from Jersey in the Channel Islands and is studying for her Master of Music in vocal studies and opera at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Elizabeth Ritchie.
She is the 2025 winner of both The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss and The Williams Howard Prize.
Her operatic roles include Mrs Coyle (Owen Wingrave), Dido in (Dido and Aeneas) and Youka (L'étoile), with upcoming performances as Ninette (L’amour des trois oranges) and Ilia (Idomeneo).
On the concert platform, Esther has performed Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.2, Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem and Bach's B Minor Mass.
