welcome
Praised for her “smooth, steady tone” (Seen and Heard) and her “elegant vocal timbre” (Bachtrack), soprano Esther Shea is emerging as a compelling young artist across opera, concert and recital performance.
She has just completed her Master of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music with Distinction and is the winner of the RNCM Concerto Competition and the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss.
Her operatic roles include The Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen) for which she was praised by Opera Magazine for her "confidently restrained" performance, Mrs Coyle (Owen Wingrave), and Dido (Dido and Aeneas), while recent concert engagements include Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder and Haydn's The Creation. This summer, she joins the chorus in British Youth Opera's production of The Rake's Progress and is looking forward to upcoming performances as Mimì (La Bohème) and Nella (Gianni Schicchi) with Kleine Opera.
