Haydn's The Creation

Esther is looking forward to joining The Phoenix Singers as the soprano soloist in Haydn's The Creation. The Creation is one of the greatest masterpieces in the choral repertoire. First performed to private audiences in Vienna in 1798, Haydn’s work received its UK premiere at the old Covent Garden Theatre two years later in 1800; over 225 years later, it still remains one of the staples for choral societies throughout the world, dazzling audiences with its glorious sound worlds and challenging performers with its virtuosic part writing and rich, intricate word-painting.

Join us to hear one of the leading choirs of the Staffordshire Moorlands perform Haydn's Creation in the stunningly beautiful setting of Leek’s only grade I-listed building. Directed by Ashley Thompson, the Phoenix Singers are joined for this special performance by singers from across the region, creating a fulsome, resonant choral sound that will help Haydn's music sing out in all its glory.
