About the event
Esther Shea is delighted to be performing in this brand new community opera composed by Kate Pearson and directed by Jonathan Ainscough.
The opera is a tale of loss, magic, and the destructive power of nature and human relationships inspired by the history of Manchester’s lost waterways. The Water Mark follows the story of a troubled young woman who discovers that cleaning up a local river – and the historical people and stories from the city’s past she encounters along the way (including the legendary Suffragettes) – is the key that unlocks her writer’s block.
